About
Road Show is an international education programme for improving road safety. In Poland it is run by the Road Safety Initiatives Centre (Centrum Inicjatyw Bezpieczeństwa Ruchu Drogowego).
What is Road Show?
It is an emotional, multimedia education programme for young people aged 15–24, based on the peer-to-peer method. It takes place on a large, specially prepared stage – usually in a cinema or theatre – with around 300–500 participants.
The atmosphere plays a key role: spotlights, music, film and sound effects. The programme combines audiovisual effects with information, reflections and testimonies of direct witnesses and people involved in road accidents from the region where the Road Show is held.
Who the young people meet
- police officers,
- firefighters,
- paramedics,
- physiotherapists,
- people injured in road accidents.
Duration: 1 hour.
What participants say
- “It makes you think and reflect”
- “A complete surprise. We didn’t expect it to affect us so much”
- “A new, innovative look at road safety”
Road Show in Poland
The campaign is active and has been run regularly across Poland since 2013. In that time we have met face to face with more than 60,000 young people.
In 2025 Road Show received the special award of the Partnership for Road Safety for the best education programme in Poland. Some might say that is not many on a national scale, but it is volunteer work, carried out by a non-governmental organisation together with the Police, Fire Service, ambulance service, physiotherapists, families of victims and people injured in accidents. This award is for them.
The programme is under the patronage of the Małopolska Regional Road Safety Council.
Licence and reach
The programme is run under licence from IRSA and Trafpol. Road Show has been held in the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and in Latin America: Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
